Defiance US 100 Tech AI Moat ETF

Name(Required)

AIX – Invest in the companies positioned to benefit from the expansion of AI

The Defiance US 100 Tech AI Moat ETF (“AIX”) fund seeks to provide exposure to companies that the underlying index identifies as having characteristics associated with potential benefits from artificial intelligence. It tracks an index that selects companies based on factors intended to identify potential competitive advantages related to artificial intelligence (‘AI moats’).

The Thesis

AIX is designed to track an index that separates companies based on their relative exposure to AI, excluding those identified as more vulnerable –such as certain enterprise software, application platform, and digital services firms that may be displaced by AI –and focusing on companies that meet criteria associated with potential competitive advantages in artificial intelligence.

The Fund considers an “AI moat” to be an economic moat within the AI ecosystem, such as a company’s proprietary data sets, superior technical models, or deeply embedded AI capabilities, each of which has been objectively defined in the Index methodology through measurable criteria.

Why AIX

  • Provides targeted exposure to companies identified by the Index as having higher relative AI-related characteristics.
  • Applies screening criteria designed to include tech-oriented companies with AI moats that are demonstrating or showcasing AI-related infrastructure expenditure, AI-integration into business operations, and identifiable AI moats.
  • Emphasizes companies with specified attributes such as proprietary data, embedded AI capabilities, or semiconductor exposure.
  • Tracks a rules-based index and may hold a concentrated portfolio of securities. A concentrated portfolio may increase volatility and risk.

Investment Objective

The Defiance US 100 Tech AI Moat ETF (the “Fund”) seeks to track the total return performance, before fees and expenses, of the Indxx US 100 Tech AI Moat Index (the “Index”).

Underlying Index: Indxx US 100 Tech AI Moat Index

The Index begins with the 100 largest Nasdaq-listed non-financial companies and then:

  • Removes “AI Vulnerable Tech Companies” as firms whose core software or digital services may be displaced by AI, and removes them from the universe semi-annually using ITICS and FactSet industry classification criteria.
  • Limits the remaining names to all tech-oriented companies with AI moats that are demonstrating or showcasing AI-related infrastructure expenditure, AI-integration into business operations, and identifiable AI moats
  • Scores companies based on metrics such as research and development intensity and AI-related business exposure, as defined by the Index methodology. There is no assurance that the Index methodology will successfully identify companies that benefit from AI or avoid those that do not.

The performance data quoted represents past performance. Past performance does not guarantee future results. The investment return and principal value of an investment will fluctuate so that an investor’s shares, when sold or redeemed, may be worth more or less than their original cost and current performance may be lower or higher than the performance quoted. Performance current to the most recent month-end can be obtained by calling 833.333.9383. Short term performance, in particular, is not a good indication of the fund’s future performance, and an investment should not be made based solely on returns. Market price is the price at which shares in the ETF can be bought or sold on the exchanges during trading hours, while the net asset value (NAV) represents the value of each share’s portion of the fund’s underlying assets and cash at the end of the trading day.
